The golf course undulates gently past 5 lakes and a stream (bringing water into play on 10 of the holes). Ninety eight bunkers and over seven thousand trees complete the landscape. The course length varies from 5,747 to 7,319 yards depending on tee selection.

The nearby Portarlington Golf Club celebrates its centinary in 2008 and is a magnificent 6100 yard golf course set in mature parkland on the river Barrow, the latter making the last few holes perhaps the most difficult in Co Laois. The recently refurbished clubhouse provides a warm welcome and excellent environment for guests.
The Mountrath Golf Club was founded in 1929 as a 9 hole course and extended to 18 holes in 1994. Golfers will relish its fine, long fairways and well manicured greens.
The River Nore meanders through the course increasing the challenge. With a backdrop provided by the beautiful Slieve Bloom Mountains, the course presents a challenge to golfers of all standards.
